The Message Beyond the Movie

Things are heating up at Renew Church and I’m not just talking about the weather!  This past week, we launched our “Lights, Camera, Action!” Series and it was so much fun!  I want to give a “shoutout” to our amazing Renew Crew who put in extra effort to make week 1 so amazing- the decorations, the costumes, the popcorn, the movie scenes, the previews, and more!  I’m believing it will get better every week through the series!  

If you missed last week, I preached a message entitled, “Renewed Hope” from Romans 5 (click here to listen).  The “message beyond the movie” is that our suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and our character points us to the hope given to us through the Holy Spirit.  So, no matter what you are going through... remember... There’s still hope!

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.  Romans 5:1-5

I was so inspired by it that my family and I handed out 100 invitations in our neighborhood in just 25 minutes on Wednesday! Maybe you could consider sharing our posts on Facebook and Instagram AND personally inviting some people to join you this week?  Whatever you do, please pray for the message to have an impact far greater than the movie... I believe God can even use a movie to change someone’s life! 

Week 2 is Pirates of the Caribbean!  You’re going to love it!
