Toy Shoppe
This week, our hearts are full as we prepare to host our annual Christmas Toy Shoppe on Saturday! Thanks to the generosity and teamwork of several incredible partners, we are going to be able to create a bright and joyful experience for families in our community. A huge thank-you to Venetian Parc Academy, Miami Sharkies, Danceworks, Kiwanis of Homestead, and our amazing Renew Church family for coming together to make this event possible. Your kindness will help us bless families with toys, warm smiles, and a reminder that hope shines brightest when we serve together. Invite your Five
As we get ready for our Christmas Program on December 14, I encourage you to invite your five—five people or families who could use encouragement, connection, or a place to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I got to watch some of the rehearsal earlier this week and I can't wait for you to see this program- it is going to be amazing! Christmas at Renew is the perfect time to reach out and help others experience joy, hope, and the love of Jesus.   Reminder: We have 3 services to choose from: 9am, 10:30 & 12pm!

Harvest Offering
This Sunday is our annual Harvest Offering, a moment for our church family to unite in generosity. Our goal for this offering is $100,000 that will help us expand our impact locally and globally and purchase plans for a new 750 seat Auditorium (see design concept below). It’s not about equal giving—it’s about equal participation. To hear more of my heart behind this special Sunday, take a moment to watch last Sunday’s message.

​As we head into Thanksgiving week, I keep thinking about how grateful I am for our Renew Church family. You make this community feel real, welcoming, and full of life. I love seeing the way people show up for each other, laugh together, pray together, and make space for anyone who walks through our doors. Renew isn’t just a church we attend—it feels like home, and that’s because of you. Thanks for being the kind of community that makes me excited for what’s ahead every single week.

Toy Shoppe - Dec. 6
One example of that is how many toys we’ve collected for the Toy Shoppe! We’ve already gathered over 700 toys (including a generous donation from the City of Homestead) so families in our community can have a special Christmas. That is unbelievable! Please start inviting families to the Toy Shoppe taking place on December 6.

Harvest Offering – Dec. 7
Please continue praying about your part in our Annual Harvest Offering. This special offering helps us expand our reach locally, nationally, and globally, and begins the process of building a 750-seat auditorium on the south side of our 5-acre property at Renew. God is up to something.

Christmas Program – Dec. 14
We are just four Sundays away from our Christmas Program! This annual event is one of our biggest Sundays of the year, and we’ll be hosting three services—9A, 10:30A, and 12P. Be praying about five people you’ll invite who need to hear the life-changing message of the Gospel.

Last week, we took a quick trip to Oklahoma to visit family and bring my mom back with us for an extended stay in Miami. It’s so great having Grandma in the house! On Monday, Pastors Ricardo, Carlos, and I attended the “Church for the One Conference” in Lakeland. It was such a meaningful time of learning and growing together.

This Sunday, we’re kicking off a new message series entitled “Altared” - this is a journey of surrender—where our old ways are laid down and a new way of life begins.  When you meet God at the altar, everything changes.  Each week, we’ll explore what it means to live transformed by the presence of God, to bring Him our best, and to walk in renewed purpose.  My first message will focus on the life of Noah in Genesis Chapters 6-9.  It’s more than a moment of worship—it’s a lifestyle of transformation.  Join us as we discover what happens when we live altared lives—set apart, surrendered, and forever changed.

We’ll also celebrate Child Dedication during the 11AM service, and that evening we’ll gather for a Night of Worship, followed by a Dessert Potluck at 7PM. It’s going to be a special day together, and I hope you’ll join us!

Please continue to pray about your participation in our Harvest Offering on December 7. My goal isn’t equal giving — but equal participation. In other words, I’m not telling you what to do; I’m simply asking you to ask God what He would have you do, and then do that.
It’s been a busy but good few weeks, and I’m so looking forward to what God has in store for us in this next season at Renew. I truly believe He’s moving in our church!

This weekend Misfit Youth has a lot going on! In addition to our regular service for our youth, which happens every Friday starting at 7pm, we have two events happening that all are invited to. 

On Saturday, Misfit Youth is hosting a Harvest Market from 12 – 4PM! This is going to be a fun event with a lot of beautiful crafts and delicious food for sale. There will also be an inflatable obstacle course and several fun games for kids to play. Entrance is only $5, and all proceeds go to filling boxes for Operation Christmas Child. 

Then on Sunday morning they will be hosting a Misfit Takeover at our church. The youth will be serving in several areas, leading worship and Pastor Carlos will be speaking about what it takes to be a Misfit. 
We hope that you come out and join us for these great events!

I know there are lots of things to do on Friday nights - especially this one!  If you are looking for something to do, why not join our youth for a “Night of Worship”!  

How cool is it that our students want to lead a worship event to light a night that is oftentimes a day focused on darkness?  In addition, our Outreach Team will be handing out hamburgers and snow cones in a local neighborhood that is known to have lots of families and children visiting and inviting them to Renew Church!
   
VISION SUNDAY
Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish…”

This Sunday, I can’t wait to celebrate all that we have seen God do at Renew and look ahead for all that He is going to do in the days ahead!  Vision Sunday only comes once a year - don’t miss it! 

CEREAL & CRAZY SOCK SUNDAY
RC Kids has something fun planned this Sunday as well! All our kids are encouraged to wear their craziest socks and will enjoy a yummy cereal treat during class!

We are so excited for Sunday Funday!!! 

After both services we will have fun games, a bounce house & hayride, apple cider and free food from some really awesome local vendors! 

There is also a scare free costume contest for the kids so make sure you bring them dressed up! Did we mention a Pie Eating Contest? 🥧

You are going to want to make sure that you invite your friends and family as there will be a beautiful fall photobooth for you as well.

Hi there!

Thank you so much to everyone who wished me a “Happy Birthday” yesterday! I had some people tell me I should take the day off - my response was that I didn’t want to.  In part, because taking a day off literally just pushes back the things that I need to get done for the week which means I have more stress leading up to Sunday. And the second reason: I LOVE WHAT I DO!  It is an honor to be your pastor! 

I am really excited for the next 3 months in our church.  We are preparing our teams to move from two to three services starting in January and as we share this with our church family- we continue to see people step up to serve and lead!  God is doing some amazing things in our church but I truly believe the best is yet to come!

I want to encourage you to jump in to all the things we have happening at Renew!  I often say, “One of the best ways to grow in your relationship with God is growing in relationship with His people.”

Hi there!
Last weekend we kicked off a new series in the book of Nehemiah. It's a powerful short story (13 chapters) that depicts the life of a Jewish man who was exiled from his homeland and when he heard about the current condition of his nation and people - he prayed.  But this was more than a 5 second prayer - he sat down, he wept, he mourned, he fasted and he prayed.  This was a season of prayer that impacted the king that he served as well as the future of Jerusalem. Nehemiah had a burden that became a vision that led to the rebuilding of the wall around Jerusalem.

This weekend, I will continue the series with a message entitled, “hand of God”.  Proverbs 21:1 say, “In the Lord’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water that he channels toward all who please him.”  
Join me as I talk about the impact of having the Hand of God on our lives, our church, our community and our world!

Also, on Saturday, October 18, Renew Church is hosting Phil Stacey in concert!  This is a fundraiser event to raise money for Safe Families.  A non-profit in Miami that supports at-risk children that are in foster care.  We would love to have you join us for this special event! Click here!

What a weekend! We’re celebrating with our Hope Center family on such an incredible event on Saturday night. It was completely sold out, and—thanks to your support and a generous matching grant from a family connected to Renew—over $70,000 was raised! This amazing support will help the Hope Center continue to grow and thrive in the year ahead.

This Saturday morning is our Ladies Gather event, and if you haven’t registered yet, don’t miss it! These Gather events have been such a blessing to the women of Renew, and I know this one will be no exception. It’s going to be a beautiful time of connection and encouragement.

And finally—I’m excited to launch a brand-new vision series this Sunday in the Old Testament book of Nehemiah. Nehemiah’s story of redemption and renewal for Israel carries powerful lessons for us today. If you want to jump in with both feet, I encourage you to read through this short but impactful book (just 13 chapters) during the series.
