God is Working- More details coming soon.

This is the week leading up to Pentecost.  Pentecost marks the day that Jesus promised to His followers that if they would “wait for the gift” they would receive His power to be His witnesses to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of earth.  I believe that same power is available to us today.

I am sitting here in my office pondering some of the ways in which I have seen God work in the waiting:

- Small Groups via Zoom are seeing new visitors almost every week!  (Core Value: We disciple people through small groups.)

- COVID-19 has given us an opportunity to restructure our Leadership Model that will help us to be a church with potential to reach more people in our community than we could have in our previous leadership structure.  Our team is meeting weekly for leadership training and future planning. (Core Value: We are on a co-mission.)

- We have a whole new perspective of Church Online.  No longer will we think of it just as online content. Instead, Renew Church Online is continuing to develop with quality production to become an interactive “2nd campus” of Renew Church!  (Core Value: We preach Good News. / We plant churches.) 

-This pandemic has opened our eyes to the needs around us and we have been able to serve our city through loving our first responders, health care workers, Moms, Grads, RC Kids Outreach, People that lost jobs/income, Food Distribution, Local Church Partnerships, Movie Nights and More. (Core Value: We Love our City.)

I am not able to share everything at this point, but you need to know that God is at work in Renew Church!  Honestly, from a purely natural perspective- it would be easy to doubt our future.  But even as we studied through the Foundations of Faith Zoom group last night (make sure to join us when it starts again in a few weeks!), our struggle is not only in the physical world- there is a “battle going on against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12) and “without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).

I am believing, anticipating and thanking God in advance for the even more amazing things that Renew will do in the days ahead.  As I mentioned, I can’t share all the details now, but even if I did- I’m not sure you would believe me.  :)
