Day twenty-one: Start moving by faith and God will help you win.

God acts on your behalf when you step out in faith. This doesn't mean that we achieve salvation or freedom through our works, but our faith in action triggers our liberation. When we act in faith, trusting what God has promised, He opens up a way for us.

That’s exactly how it was for the new generation of Israelites who were prepared to enter the Promised Land.

They had seen how disobedience caused their parents to forfeit the promise and wander in the desert for 40 years, and they were not going to repeat their parents’ mistakes.

Their obedience and readiness were evident as they faced the first challenge: crossing the Jordan River on dry land during a season when the Jordan overflowed its banks. God instructed Joshua, their new leader, to consecrate the people so they could cross the Jordan into the Promised Land.

The priests, holding the Ark of the Covenant, were to step into the overflowing Jordan and as soon as their feet touched the water, the waters would recede, exposing the riverbed. It was their act of faith, believing that God would make a way, that caused the waters to divide.

Similarly, as we step into what God calls us to do, He will clear the path, removing obstacles, enabling us to conquer, grow, and live in freedom. Go ahead and take the next step of faith!

Scripture Reference:
Joshua 3:15-16

- It was the harvest season, and the Jordan was overflowing its banks. But as soon as the feet of the priests who were carrying the Ark touched the water at the river’s edge, 16 the water above that point began backing up a great distance away at a town called Adam, which is near Zarethan. And the water below that point flowed on to the Dead Sea[c] until the riverbed was dry. Then all the people crossed over near the town of Jericho.

Prayer Prompt: Ask God to give you the faith to believe His promises and the courage to step out even when it looks like it’s impossible.
