Day three: We are all slaves, until we are set free.

“Get owned.”

My kids use that phrase when they feel they’ve won an argument. It's a popular slang term describing a decisive victory or domination, originally coined by hackers to describe gaining complete control over someone else's computer.
 
Slaves are also owned, defeated and not in control of their own lives.
 
And sometimes we too can feel enslaved and owned by sinful patterns of behavior that dictate our actions and words. The good news is, we don't have to remain in bondage to our old nature.
 
We can earnestly seek freedom. Stepping out of denial, we can turn to God for the help we need. He's ready to assist; we only need to ask.

Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. 18 Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living. 
 
Prayer Prompt: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal your blind spots and give you the faith to cry out for freedom.
