Day ten: Don’t grumble or give up when you encounter bumps on the road to freedom!

Once they left Egypt, the Israelites thought the worst was over. But their journey had just begun!

They were on the most momentous adventure with God, one that would impact generations upon generations. To become the kind of people who could inhabit the promises of God and display His glory to the nations, they had to navigate challenging terrain—testing their faith and resolve.

How did the Israelites respond? They complained about their circumstances, forgot the ways that God had delivered them in the past, and doubted His present and future provision.

Sound familiar?

We sometimes think that leaving personal "Egypts" makes the journey easy. But salvation is the easy part! Then begins our journey to freedom, to purpose, to making a difference in the world… to becoming the people we know in our heart of hearts we were meant to be. This trek is hard, with detours and road construction and sometimes many miles before you hit a rest stop. Why is that? Why does God allow it?
Because that's how we build our spiritual muscles. Allowing God to mold us through trials strengthens our faith, helping us develop endurance to fully realize God's purpose—to be a reflection of His glory, goodness, and mercy in our lives.

Scripture Reference: Exodus 17:3
  - But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”

Scripture Reference: James 1:2-4
  - 2 Dear brothers and sisters,[a] when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

Prayer Prompt: Ask for God's assistance in navigating trials, allowing you to cultivate spiritual endurance.
