Day seventeen: Freedom does not happen all at once. It’s a daily unveiling and the more we follow God the more freedom we’ll experience.

Little by little and step by step.

That is how God transformed a generation of slaves into a kingdom with the capacity to bless all the nations. The Israelites, not accustomed to power and responsibility, would be prepared one small victory at a time.

Even after they entered the Promised Land, they did not gain control all at once. In Deuteronomy, we’re told God drove out the nations bit by bit so they would not be overwhelmed. Although frustrating, this slow progress had a purpose.

We also get frustrated at our own slow pace. But what’s expedient is not always for our best. God’s gradual pace is intentional because He knows just how much victory we can handle, and the time it will take for us to fully inhabit His promises.

The truth is, that we will consistently experience growth, one victory at a time. This ongoing process shapes us into individuals capable of fulfilling God's unfolding purpose for our lives.

Scripture References: Deuteronomy 7:22
- The Lord your God will drive those nations out ahead of you little by little. You will not clear them away all at once, otherwise the wild animals would multiply too quickly for you.

Scripture References: Philippians 3:12-14
- Not that I have already grasped it all or have already become perfect, but I press on if I may also take hold of that [h]for which I was even taken hold of by Christ Jesus. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Prayer Prompt: Thank God for yesterday’s victory and seek His guidance today for continued spiritual growth.

Amen!! God’s gradual pace is intentional because He knows just how much victory we can handle, and the time it will take for us to fully inhabit His promises.
