Birthdays and Baptisms!

Hi there!There is a really cool thing that they have started doing in RC Kids every month… Its called “Birthday Sunday” and they celebrate all the kids that have Birthdays that month!  They typically have cake, party hats and some decorations!  I love their creativity!

But did you know that we have something similar that is not just for kids?  Its called Baptism Sunday!  Birthday Sunday is much like Baptism Sunday… its a celebration of what has happened in your life.  Just like a birthday which is celebrating your physical birth… Baptism is a celebration of your Spiritual Birth.  Its a commitment that says I am a new creation in Christ.  I was dead and now I’m alive again.  I was lost and now I’m found! 

In the New Testament, the significance of baptism can be seen in Jesus’ life and the start of his ministry when he was baptized in the Jordan River.  Baptism is an outward expression of our personal relationship with Christ. We are super excited for the 8+ candidates taking that next step be raised to new life through baptism this weekend!
