30 Second Theology

Hi there!

What an awesome weekend we had this past Sunday at Renew!  It was Hope Sunday and the service included Baptisms and testimonies that reminded me of why we do what we do!  I am so proud of this ministry!  If you want to help Hope Center financially- you can support their raffle that they are doing to raise money for their Miami Center. Here is the website to purchase tickets: https://www.hopecm.com/keephopealive

DON’T MISS this weekend we are doing a message entitled, “30 Second Theology”.  Some people watch the Superbowl for the big game, others for the halftime show and some people love the commercials!  Join us this Sunday as we give you a brand new perspective through the use of a few commercials that can actually have spiritual significance.  We will have some food and tailgate fun after the service. Invite a friend!

Starting on February 19 we begin our relationship series entitled, “Before You Do, After You Did”.  Messages in the series include: Pursuing your Spouse, Pursuing Purity and Pursuing God.  Whether you are married, single or considering marriage- I think hearing what Scripture says on these topics will bring value to your life!

Finally, I want to ask you to pray for those impacted by the Earthquake.  As I saw news reports from this past week my heart was broken. Rescuers continue to search for survivors from this devastating earthquake. So far, more than 15,000 people have lost their lives, and at least 30,000 are injured. Officials from the World Health Organization expect the number of fatalities to eventually reach 20,000.

In Syria, a country already struggling after 12 years of conflict, millions of internally displaced people live in the area most impacted by the quake, many in crowded camps where resources are scarce. The harsh winter weather is making search and rescue operations more difficult, as well as creating additional misery for those who are now homeless. Some areas are without electricity or fuel.

Local churches in Syria are already reaching out to care for impacted families. Right now, their focus is on providing shelter, food relief, and emergency supplies like blankets. One congregation opened their building to house people who cannot return home.

One pastor shared an update on Tuesday, saying, "Thank you for your prayers. [This] is very difficult and confusing because we have never dealt with such a situation. The weather is very cold, the means of heating are very limited, the shock from the earthquake is horrific, and the fear of aftershocks still exists. The church is open as a shelter and the brothers work around the clock to help. We pray for divine protection for all and for wisdom and grace so that the church can play its role in helping and reassuring people. Thank you for your prayers."

In addition to the $2300 in Missions Support that Renew gave this month- we have decided to send an extra $1000 to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries to provide additional relief specifically for the Earthquake. Its because of your faithfulness in giving that we are able to support world missions and evangelism.
Please pray for the peace and comfort of Christ to be near all who are in need.

Looking Up,
