What I learned from my trip to Kansas City.

Hi there!
I just came back from the M25 conference on Wednesday in Kansas City (see some pics above! ❄️) The primary theme of the conference was on sharing our faith with people that don’t know Christ.

Some of the statistics were actually pretty staggering about how few churches have anyone give their life to Christ and get baptized in the course of a year.  It got me thinking about our church and how thankful for how many people are getting saved and baptized every year at Renew.  But it also got me thinking about my personal invitation and evangelism focus, how many people do I interact with on a regular basis that I end up sharing the Gospel with?

While I was at the conference, I bought a book on evangelism and I read almost the entire book on the flight back.  The author shared his salvation story and how he came to Christ because someone was bold enough to ask him if he knew where he would go after he died.  It was an interesting interaction where he rejected the person to his face and only later that day did he decide to put his faith in Christ - even though the person would never find out since they never met again.

As I was reading, I couldn't help but think of all the people traveling around me that might need to hear that might not know Jesus.  On my connecting flight into Fort Lauderdale, I arrived at my seat only to find a young lady sitting in it.  When I showed her my boarding pass, she said- I don't know what to tell you- the flight attendant told me to sit here since my phone died.  The frustrating thing was that she had an empty middle seat and she could have easily just moved over- but instead - she wanted to cause an issue over the seat that I was assigned to.

The entire time I'm thinking about this- I can't stop thinking about the book I'm reading and "God appointments" that are set up to be able to share Christ with people.  So, I offered to take the middle seat and it was totally worth it!

I met Jemeya (the young lady that took my seat) and we had a 30+ minute conversation about Faith, Scripture and how only Christ can satisfy the longing in our hearts.  As I exited the plane, I gave Jemeya my Renew Wristband that has our Scripture Verse imprinted on it, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old is gone- the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17.

What a trip and a reminder that God wants to use us to be His messengers to share the Gospel to a world that is in desperate need of what Christ offers us!

Have a Great Week!
Looking Up!
