misfit Takeover

Hi there!

My name is Chloe Nieves, and I’m Misfit Youth’s middle school girls’ leader. Going into my second year of attending teen camp, I had some expectations of how it was going to go. Chaotically fun outdoor activities, relaxing lake time, intentional conversation, and emotional services and devotionals. What I didn’t expect, however, was three out of five days of torrential downpour, one resulting in a temporary power outage! The rain didn’t stop our worship, and it didn’t stop our speakers from delivering powerful sermons. 
 
One speaker spoke of a “Tikal moment”, drawn from the thought of “there must be a God”. This teen camp, and Thursday night’s sermon was without a doubt a Tikal moment. Our teens leaned in last week and allowed God to do great work through them. To the parents that placed their trust in us to take their kids, thank you. To everyone who helped donate during our fundraiser, thank you! Your faith in us and in God made this possible.
