Family.

Hi there!​
I hope you are having a great week! I asked Jessica May, our Small Groups Director, to write a few words on the importance of joining a Small Group and this is what she shared with me: 

Family.  

That’s what a good small group is. Family. 

A good small group becomes your people and tribe...the ones who walk with you in the challenging parts of life when you need to be heard and prayed for, supported and comforted. The ones who celebrate life’s wins with you when that test comes back clear, or you get that job you have all been praying for. They are the ones that create a sturdiness around you when life seems the opposite and anxiety is winning. They are the ones who come to your mother’s funeral, send meals when the new baby arrives, and show up at your graduation because they would not miss it for the world. They give gifts to your kids on their birthdays because your kids are like theirs. These precious gifts are the ones you eventually cannot imagine life without because they have become so infused in your story.  

This is the kind of legacy I have lived by having a REALLY GOOD small group. I still do “life” with my old small group members even though we are scattered across the country. We still send Marco Polo videos every day checking in on life and updating about our own. And we still do an annual Christmas Tree ornament exchange in December every year though, Zoom is now the place we gather.  
My desire is to help encourage these spaces of belonging in Renew. The spaces where you feel God’s love tangibly through the members of you group and experience healing as they care for you in ways that may feel new to you. Places where you can come messy and broken and be embraced and received in the same way God receives you into His family.  

I hope you consider joining a small group this Fall. We really look forward to having you with us.  This weekend, we are hosting a “Small Group Fair” which is a great opportunity to learn about our groups and find one that fits you!

Grandparents Day
Speaking of family. We have an amazing day planned for Grandparents this weekend at Renew Church!  We have a beautiful photo backdrop, a small gift and a special prayer for Grandparents.  I hope that you will invite Abuelo y Abuela to join you for this special day.  

Child Dedication
Child Dedication is September 17 and is a special moment for the families in our church.  This event is also very important for the friends and family connected to the child that is being dedicated, so don’t forget to invite them to join you!  Click here to sign up and we will contact you with all the details!
